Precaution is better than Cure

As part of Business Continuity Plan (BCP), a pandemic flu drill was carried out at Keppel Logistics (Foshan) Limited (KLF) on 23 July 2008. The drill involves the following exercises:

•  Temperature screening and health declaration at main points of entry to warehouse #6 and Admin Block L-3;

•  Isolation and dis-infecting affected areas;

•  Dispatching suspected cases to hospital for further diagnosis and treatment and medical clearance procedure

•  Documentation for record and contact tracing purposes;

•  Back up plans for warehouse staff and IT support system in the event of a possible avian flu outbreak, and contingency to minimize inconvenience to customers and tenants.

” As the Chinese saying goes, {Precaution is better than Cure} ( 预防胜于治疗 ). ” said Mr Au Yong Kong Seng, GM of KLF. ”Pandemic flu drill is one vital part of our overall risk management strategy. Through such drills, we aim to enhance our staff's awareness on personal hygiene, improve our responsive-ness in dealing with unplanned events and at the same time minimize disruption to our service levels.”
