Of Keppel Logistics (Foshan) Limited
On 17 July 2008, a delegation from the Minister of Thailand Ministry of Agriculture visited Foshan City and especially paid special visit to our Keppel Logistics Foshan (KLF) Lanshi Port. Accompanied by leaders of Guangdong Entry-Exit Inspection & Quarantine Bureau (CIQ), the delegation toured the port inspection area and gained an insight into the procedures required for customs declaration, inspection and quarantine for imported fruits from Thailand .
According to CIQ records, almost 70% of all the imported fresh fruits from Thailand into China are handled via Lanshi Port and re-distributed all across China . In the 1 st half of 2008, more than 80,000 tons of fresh fruits have been imported in this manner. This large proportion is credited to KLF's good track record in providing speedy, efficient and error-free inspection facilities and service, which is endorsed as a ¡°green channel¡± for the import of Thailand fresh fruits.
During the visit to Lanshi Port , the Agriculture Minister commended the efficient workflow of import cargoes at Lanshi Port. Indeed the smooth operation at Lanshi Port has ensured that the Thai fruits can gained substantial market share and timely supply to the China market, especially during the Beijing Olympic Games period. The fruits were mainly familiar ones such as rambutan, mango, lychees and the all-time favouite ¡°king-of-fruits¡± durians.
